Electronic crossover artist Jlin will release her second album, titled Black Origami, on Mike Paradinas’s Planet Mu label. The album, which follows 2015 debut Dark Energy, will be released on 19 May.
Speaking about the album, Jlin comments: “The simple definition of origami is the art of folding and constructing paper into a beautiful, yet complex design… Composing music for me is like origami, only I’m replacing paper with sound. I chose to title the album Black Origami because, like Dark Energy, I still create from the beauty of darkness and blackness.”
There is a lot of excitement surrounding the Indiana-based footwork artist’s upcoming release, which will feature collaborations with avant-garde composer William Basinski, sound artist Holly Herndon, Halcyon Veil producer Fawkes and rapper Dope Saint Jude from Cape Town, South Africa.
