Kuedo and Joe Shakespeare have announced the release of Obsequies’s debut EP via their label Knives. The label/creative agency was set up by Kuedo and Shakespeare in 2015 with the first release coming from J. G. Biberkopf in May of that year.
Obsequies is a up and coming Belgian artist who is set to release his debut EP entitled Organn.
Inspired by Isidore-Lucien Ducasse’s poem ‘Les Chants De Maldoror’, the EP is “about love and duality” according to the label. Further they described the album as “contradictory” with the compositions taking on elements of “widescreen claustrophobia; glimmering sludge” and “piercing VHS ambience.”
Visuals on the album are done by French mixed-media artist Thomas Hauser.
