Online music streaming service Mixcloud has unveiled a new feature, Mixcloud Studio. Designed to make live-streaming more accessible and to simplify the live-stream experience, Mixcloud Studio is designed to allow users to stream directly from their browser and eliminate the need for any third-party streaming software.

Currently in its Beta stage, Mixcloud hopes to “build Studio into a powerful one-stop-shop for any DJ, producer or musician that wants to live-stream.” Furthermore, Studio will manage copyright for users and feature built-in engagement and interactivity tools. Elaborating on the move towards the Studio format, Mixcloud said in a statement on their website:

“Whether you’re uploading a mix or going live, using Mixcloud has required creators to master a combination of software and hardware before they touch Mixcloud’s interface. There are many things that can (and do) go wrong along the way, from sound levels to video settings, to file-size and internet speeds. When we have an opportunity to make it easier for creators to use Mixcloud, we should take it.”

Currently, Mixcloud Pro users can access a trial of the new feature, and are encouraged to report any bugs while still in Beta stage. More information on how to access and use the Studio feature is available here.
