Electronic producer Jerry Folk is well-known for his slick beats that have captured the attention of fans globally. Recently, the producer has embarked on a side project as well, under the name FENGSEL. The side project has allowed the producer to pursue some new creative outlets, taking his music in completely new directions and will be presented as part of a debut album, slated for release later this year via his own imprint. Inspirations for the new project include a cast of well-known artists such as Toro Y Moi, James Blake, Majid Jordan and Flume, resulting in a unique trans-genre creation.
Ahead of the album, Jerry Folk has released several diverse singles, including the neo-soul ‘Everything’ which was accompanied by a laid back video. ‘Everything’ inspired the creation of FENGSEL and was originally conceptualised during a period of overwhelming sadness. Other singles include the indie-pop ‘On My Way’ (created in only a few hours and featuring good friend Bearson) as well as the jungle-infused ‘Dotted Red’ which was inspired by the many facets of the UK music scene. Most recently, Jerry Folk has shared the chilled-pop ‘Ferris Wheel’ featuring fellow Olso-based singer Alva Ravn and accompanied by a love-soaked video. The single is “a story about childhood, loss and coming to terms with the inevitable highs and lows life has to offer”. Each single stands out: bold in its own uniqueness and untethered to previous constraints.

The young producer shares his thoughts on working with the Norwegian singer for this single: “Alva is a friend I met in high school and we have been writing a lot of music lately. Ferris Wheel is probably my favorite so far we’ve done together.”
