Reinvention is the name of the game, especially for music producer GONE and his recently released EP SOURCES. Hailing from Paris, the musician is on a path of recreating himself – leaving his past life behind and marking the occasion with an aptly named debut EP. The French pianist and percussionist finds a middle ground between the light and cheerful electronica tones and the deep rolling basslines of techno. Standing out on the EP was the initial track, ‘Saved‘ which is accompanied by a 3D visualizer, the first of a series of cinematic pieces that will be revealed to accompany GONE’s music.
We were curious about the producer embarking on a new adventure and leading listeners into a world of melodic techno and beautiful imagery.
Set the tone for us. Why the arts?
I started playing the piano at 6, art appeared to me as an evidence
Why the name “GONE”?
I chose this name because I sometimes have absences when I am spoken to, my software crashes and I literally get high.
What music scene are you on?
I am on an electronic scene with techno-pop influences.
Which comes first when you’re producing – the sound or the idea?
The sound at the service of the idea
What does GONE’s music make you think of?
GONE’s music is an escape. In front of my speakers, I often try to create a parallel universe, beyond the foreground instruments.
What’s on your current playlist?
Sevdaliza

A bottle of water
Tell us about your stage projects (what do you focus on when live, for example)?
Starting a musical adventure, I project myself all over the world. Sharing my world with as many people as possible is an absolute dream.
I am also preparing a dark scenography, intrinsically linked to the history of GONE.
Any emerging artists on your radar?
Me
You sing on two tracks in the EP. Can we expect more vocals in future projects?
Singing will take an important place in my music. Sources was a research laboratory for my future projects.
I want to combine voice and music without one overriding the other.
What gets your creative juices flowing?
The rollercoasters of life
GONE’s images are quite abstract, is there a concept behind to follow?
Behind GONE there is a scenario, which you will soon discover, with SF and dark matter influences
