Morrissey abruptly stops live show after fans storm stage

On Saturday night, a Morrissey concert was brought to a halt suddenly after a group of fans stormed the stage, attempting to touch and interact with Morrissey, with one fan appearing to strike the former Smiths member in the face. Morrissey was singing ‘Every Day Is Like Sunday’ when the interruption took place and did not continue with his performance once the fans had been removed from the stage.

Many audience members booed as the handful of fans climbed the stage at Morrissey’s show which took place at Copley Symphony Hall in San Diego. Morrissey’s manager subsequently released a statement on the incident, claiming that there was no malicious intent in the interruption of the performance.
