Our House, a new museum of electronic music in Amsterdam, is set to officially open on October 29th. The museum will occupy the former space of one of Amsterdam’s oldest house music venues, iT. According to their website, the museum is an experience “told through six chapters” and fifteen installations and is billed as the world’s first modern museum dedicated to electronic music. Over 150 artists, promoters, DJs and various creatives working in the electronic music industry have contributed to the museum’s exhibits. Contributors include icons such as Carl Cox and the Frankie Knuckles Foundation, as well as Charlotte de Witte and Armin van Buuren. Our House is set to feature archives of photography, interactive vinyl players, exhibits of hardware and drum machines as well as screened documentaries. Our House’s final “chapter” is a 4D audiovisual experience dubbed The Culture Ride.
