It’s almost every festival-savvy party-goer’s favourite end of season knees up and just a week after releasing the Isle of Wight based festival’s much anticipated line up, Bestival‘s curator has announced plans for a big expansion. Bestival will now have a North American sister festival in Toronto, Canada. The event will be held by Embrace and SFX Entertainment alongside Bestival curator, Rob Da Bank who earlier released this statement:
“We have waited 12 years to decide to launch another Bestival outside of the UK and our beloved Bestival, on the Isle of Wight, which has grown into one of the most important festivals in the global calendar. It took a really special city, and an even more exciting site, with Toronto and Toronto Island, to make us take the leap. So, the waiting is over and we are so excited to be launching in North America in June, with a classic Bestival line-up waiting to thrill, intrigue and party! I’d like to thank all our partners, friends, new and old, and supporters in Toronto, for making this happen. We cannot wait!”
This years UK based Bestival line-up will see the likes of The Chemical Brothers, Duran Duran, Flying Lotus, Tame Impala and Lily Allen (among many others) performing on its much loved stages.
The line up for the Canadian festival is yet to be released however you can register for pre-sale tickets here.
