Watch Arcade Fire’s latest whimsical animated video for ‘Chemistry’

Canadian Indie legends Arcade Fire have unveiled a new animated video for ‘Chemistry‘, from the GRAMMY-nominated global #1 album Everything Now released via Sony last year.

Directed by Ray Tintori, animated by Starburns Industries (Rick & Morty, Charlie Kaufman’s Anomalisa, Community) and featuring Tootie Tootz of Big Freedia: Queen of Bounce fame, ‘Chemistry‘ expands on the song’s theme of chemical attraction, turning it into a cartoon about a dog and cat who meet and fall in love at her wedding reception, where he is working as a caterer, and she is marrying a shark.

While the core ‘Chemistry‘ story is of an animated dog and cat (played by Ms. Tootz) meeting at her wedding reception where the dog is working as a caterer, the animated characters travel to space at one point, and after destroying the International Space Station, land back on Earth, finding themselves in the midst of the Fat Tuesday in the Bywater neighbourhood of New Orleans.

Arcade Fire resume their Everything Now Continued World Tour tonight which runs through 23rd September, and concludes at the Life Is Beautiful festival in Las Vegas.
